The WI ePDMP collects information submitted by pharmacies and other dispensers about schedule II-V controlled substance prescriptions and prescription drugs identified by the Controlled Substances Board for having a substantial potential for abuse. Gabapentin, which is not a controlled substance, became a monitored prescription drug on September 1, 2021 due to having a substantial potential for abuse. It is now the most prescribed monitored prescription drug, which has led to an increase in overall dispensings of monitored prescription drugs. Below, you will find information about the monitored prescription drug dispensings that are submitted to the WI ePDMP.
Information on opioid use disorder, opioid-related hospitalizations, drug-related deaths and related resources can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website.
